Whilst enjoying your private island at Honey Bee, you are never more than 15 min. from restaurants, churches, bars, or post office on either side of the river by boat. One of the unique experiences here is that having been built from the river out from a century ago, all the restaurants/bars , such as Glen House Resort (on the Canadian side),or even the hospital in Alexandria Bay, NY, have free docks for boaters. You can swim after breakfast, go shopping in Alexandria Bay, see Boldt Castle, dine out and return to the island, all in a day of boating in paradise. Wellesley Island, immediately in front of Honey Bee on the dock side, has a golf course as well. The Thousand Island Park also on Wellesley Island is full of lovely pastel colored Victorian homes with fine dining out on the porch at the Vistorian hotel or a quick burger and ice cream cone at our kids favorite spot..the Guzzle. Tennis courts are here as well as a huge playground by the library, a lovely days outing by boat or car. There are just endless ways to enjoy your stay at Honey Bee Island, even just relaxing at home on the island and watching the world go by.

This is a private island with over 70 trees of fir, spruce, oak, pine, beech. The island is covered with blueberry bushes, ripe for the picking in mid July. Ontario Provincial park islands surround us on two sides, the boating channel is in front of the island by the dock and private islands are in the distance. From the dock sit in the Adirondock chairs and enjoy cocktails set on the surf board bench while the kids jump in, or move up to the seating under the pines in the shade. Time for a nap? Try the day bed in the screened porch..listening to the river flow by. Remember, the entire island is a WiFi zone, bring the lap top outside and sit under a tree with your coffee. Then there is the deck on the other side by the BBQ..or jump in the aluminum fishing boat and go explore. There are also kayak, canoe, jet sky rentals at most marinas. This is a boating paradise.
The water temps for swimming are lovely and warm as this is a more shallow part of the river and Honey Bee Island enjoys several hot springs that vent up in front of the dock, keeping temps very swimable into September.
Even for just sitting, enjoying the wildlife swimming or flying by, you can't beat a day at Honey Bee
